Winter was in the air. The skies were hidden behind a thick layer of grey clouds and every step we took on the grass produced a sloshing noise. It had been raining for most of the week up to this point but we were lucky enough to have arrived during a period where the rain was away. Luckily, as this is a house one needs to savour inside and out.
Found on a popular security estate in Wellington this home is positioned in a prime spot on a quiet street. It is apparent almost immediately that this home is a place where you can sit back and relax because as you approach the front door you pass a patio area. Shaded by a roof and some tall foliage this room is sure to be a cool hideaway during Wellington’s warm summer months.
Inside you can either head left, up or right. We will head right first.
The very first room you walk in to is a large lounge. This room is perfect as a TV lounge or as a place where you can entertain guests. There is also an exit to the garden from here.
The very next room is the dining room which overlooks the garden and an enclosed patio with built-in braai. The braai room opens, via stacked doors, onto the garden as well. Aft of the braai room is the open plan kitchen with a large island in the middle.
Perfect for any budding chefs the kitchen offers everything and more.
The loop from right to left complete, we are only left with up. The stairs lead to the four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Left of the stairs you find three of the bedrooms and the first bathroom. The first bedroom is large and is currently being used as a guest bed with a nook dedicated to gym equipment.
The second and third bedrooms have built-in cupboards and the passage that leads to them also has cupboards. The last room found on the right, the main bedroom, has an en-suite bathroom, lots of cupboard space as well as a walk-in closet.
